I am thinking of renaming the blog to something more appropriate. You know, like "Chirping Crickets" or "Once a Month Post." Just kidding. Well, sort of. I do like "Chirping Crickets" or "Grain of Salt". Any input from my loyal but nuts for hanging around this long faithful reader?
We got a new dog. Well, ok, I showed up with a new dog one night. I was at a seminar in the big city and had to stop by Pet Smart for some ear mite medication for my dogs. Some rescue groups were set up outside, and I went over because I'm a sucker to make a donation and there he was. A brown/black spotted two year old Border Collie/Saint Bernard cross. I swore I wouldn't fall for another one, that I couldn't be suckered again. But alas my strength and knees gave out with the first look Slade gave me. It was puppy love at first sight. He was herding the other pups in the pen; I couldn't leave him in the city. It's only been four days and he is a member of the family.
At least the calves have moved out to the ranch so our house is not quite so zoo-like.
Salted crickets? A stitch in the mud? (Get it... medical/ER ie. sutures.. and mud, ie. small rural town? And an usually quiet blog?) Am I stretching it?
Can't wait to meet Slade. It would be fun if, After the New Year, you and J brought the kids to my new house and we could hang out one weekend and maybe go to the zoo. Or "Swan Lake" by the Bolshoi Ballet in Feb. Or the Witte museum.

Slade...puppy-love...sounds like a set-up for a kinky kinda sappy romance novel.
He was a rebel without a cause, abandoned by those who claimed to love him. With his big brown eyes and thick hair, he could break the hearts of any who got to close...he had herds of young ewes falling at his feet...
He was Slade, rebel puppy without a cause.
Oh gawd I have got to get out more.
